RecyclingDesignprize 2010: The outcome

Winner of the RecyclingDesignprize 2010 award is Jeanette Jakob (Switzerland). The jury has chosen her project „Murx“ for the First Prize. Jakob re-uses (polyvinyl chloride) PVC tubes and old inner tubes from tractors to create a stool. The first prize is endowed with 2.500 Euros.

Winner of the second prize is „Der Pulli aus der Tasche“ which re-uses sleeping bags and and other textils from clothing drives for creating new textile blueprints. Developped by Christopher Hoecker (Germany).

Chosen for the third prize is Cordula Kehrer (Germany) for her RecyclingDesign project "Bow Bins" which re-uses old plastic bins in combination with organic/renewable matters.

More than 600 designers submitted to this years award/competition which has doubled the number of projects since last years award (2009). They come from 27 countries (around 180 non-german from China/Taiwan over Corea, Thailand to Egypt, EU-countries and USA). About 30 projects have been chosen for the exhibition by the jury and among these are about 25 percent international (non-german, from Thailand to the USA).
